Blynclight

Why do I need the Blynclight?
The Blynclight allows you to get your work done quickly and efficiently. The Blynclight does this by displaying certain colors that let your colleagues know when you are on the phone, busy with a task or available to chat.

By displaying your availability in the way, interruptions are reduced boosting your productivity.
What model Blynclights are available?
The following Blynclight models are available:
  • Blynclight Standard: Uses visual alerts (different color lights) to display your availability.
  • Blynclight Plus: In addition to visual alerts, the Blynclight Plus includes a ringer which can play a ringtone for incoming calls and messages.
  • Blynclight Mini: The Blynclight Mini operates in the same fashion as the Blynclight Plys but is smaller status light that suits mounting on a laptop or monitor rather than cubicle.
What are the sizes of the Blynclights?
The Blynclight Standard and Plus have the following dimensions: 1.7in (L) x 1.7in (W) x 2.4in (H).

The Blynclight Mini has the following dimensions: 0.6in )L) x 0.4in (W) x 2.4in (H) x 2.5in (H).
What colors can the Blynclight display?
The Blynclight can be configured to display the following colors when using the Embrava Connect software:
  • Green
  • Yellow
  • Orange
  • Red
  • Purple
  • Blue
However, the Blynlight can be configured to display to the full RGB spectrum of colors when using our SDK.
How does the Blynclight connect to my PC?
The Blynclight Standard, Plus and Mini connect via a micro-USB cable.
What Operating Systems does the Blynclight support?
Using Embrava Connect, the Blynclight can display the status from the following applications:
  • Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP (32-bit & 64-bit). .NET Framework 4.5 or greater needs to be installed on Windows.
  • Mac OSX 10.15 - 10.9
    Incoming Call/IM alerts are not supported on Mac OSX.
What applications does the Blynclight support?
Using Embrava Connect, the Blynclight can display the status from the following applications:
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Zoom
  • Skype for Business (on-premise)
  • Skype for Business Online (Office 365)
    Incoming Call/IM alerts not supported on this application.
  • Microsoft Lync 2013, 2010
  • Cisco Jabber
  • RingCentral
  • Cisco Finesse 10.6 and above
  • Slack

Can the Blynclight be controlled manually?
Yes, the Blynclight can be controlled manually without synchronizing with another application. The Embrava Connect software allows the user to manually select any color light on the device to illustrate their availability.
Can the Blynclight integrate with my own applications?
Yes. Using our SDK, you can have the Blynclight display any status information from your own line-of-business applications. Feel free to Contact Us if you need help doing this.

Can I order the Blynclight in bulk?

How long will my Blynclight take to ship?
Delivery to the US, Europe and Asia Pacific is normally 1-5 days.
Does the Blynclight support the Lync Attendant?
Yes. Use the Skype for Business (server-side) Connection in Embrava Connect to have your Lync Attendant presence displayed on the Blynclight.
The Skype for Business (server-side) Connection in Embrava Connect requires Lync Server 2013 or greater.
What warranty is provided with the Blynclight?
We provide a 12-month replacement warranty for any malfunctioning or failed devices as long as the device has not been physically damaged or tampered with.
What is the Return Policy for the Blynclight?
All sales are final, however we do include a 12-month warranty on all devices. If you are unsure if this is the correct solution for you, please contact us here to obtain more information.

What Operating Systems does Embrava Connect support?
  • Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP (32-bit & 64-bit). .NET Framework 4.5 or greater needs to be installed on Windows.

What applications does Embrava Connect support?
  • Skype for Business (on-premise)
  • Skype for Business Online (Office 365)
    Windows release only. Mac release yet to be supported.

How big is the Embrava Connect application?
Embrava Connect is only a small application, 3MB in size.
Does Embrava Connect support standard rollout tools such as SCCM and Group Policy?
Yes. Embrava Connect is distributed as an MSI installer that can be used with SCCM and Group policy to rollout to your organization.

The Embrava Connect installer also includes Installation Flags to customize your installation of Embrava Connect from silently installing the application to changing the available Connection tabs. See the Readme.TXT file that is included in the Embrava Connect download for more information.
Can I set a standard configuration for all Blynclight devices in my organization?
Yes. Using the Enterprise Admin software, a system administrator can set standard configuration for all Embrava devices across an organization. For this availability solution to work, it is important that a consistent configuration is pushed out across the organization. The Enterprise Admin tool provides this functionality without the headache of creating your own group policy objects or visiting each workstation to configure the application.
Can I lock down the configuration of all Blynclight devices in my organization?
Yes. Using the Enterprise Admin software, a system administrator can rollout and lock down out a standard Embrava Connect configuration to all machines in the organization, keeping all configurations consistent and preventing users from changing the configuration.
Can Embrava Connect pick up the status of more than one application at a time?
Yes. Embrava Connect can pick up the status of all the following applications at the same time:
  • Skype for Business/Microsoft Lync
  • Cisco Jabber
  • RingCentral
With multiple applications active, Embrava Connect can do either of the following to display the status information of multiple applications:
  • Priority Ordering: If you wish to display the status of multiple applications on the one device you can set the priority order of the applications where the device will display all statuses of the top priority application, but also display the busy statuses of the lower priority applications.
  • Device-Application Pairing: If you have multiple Embrava devices you can configure Embrava Connect to display the status information from an application on one device and the status information from another application on a different device. For example, you can configure Embrava Connect to display status information from Cisco Jabber on your Blynclight Plus device and status information from Skype on your Blynclight Mini device.
Can I use more than one Embrava device with Embrava Connect?
Yes. Embrava Connect supports up to five Embrava devices at the same time.
Can Embrava Connect pick up status information from my own applications?
No. However, using our SDK, you can have any Embrava device physically display any status information from your own line-of-business applications. Feel free to Contact Us if you need help doing this.

Embrava SDK

Why do I need the Embrava SDK?
Use the Embrava SDK to integrate Embrava devices with your own business applications. Whether it’s displaying a red light when Call Center call duration times are breached or displaying a flashing green light on a Blynclight when sales targets are hit, the Embrava SDK allows you to physically display alerts from any of your line of business applications.

The opportunities are endless.

Can I write my own applications to integrate with the Blynclight?
Yes. We have developed Software Development Kits (SDKs) for the following platforms allowing you to integrate the Blynclight with your own applications:
  • Windows
  • Mac
  • Linux

Is there a Software License Agreement to use the Embrava SDK?
Yes. The Software License Agreement for the Embrava SDK can be downloaded here.
Can I commercialize any applications I build with the Embrava SDK?
Not without with written consent. The use of the Embrava SDK is to develop applications for internal business purposes. Developing applications with the Embrava SDK with the intent to sell the application or developing an application that replicates any functions of any Embrava Product would be in breach of the Software License Agreement.

Can I control all Embrava devices using the SDK and API?
Yes, the Embrava SDK can be used to integrate your application with the following devices:
  • Blynclight Standard
  • Blynclight Plus
  • Blynclight Mini
The Embrava API document can be used to integrate your application with the Embrava Desk Sign.
Can I display any color I want on the Embrava devices using the SDK?
Yes. Embrava Connect can pick up the status of all the following applications at the same time:
Can I play ringtones using the Embrava SDK?
Yes. The Embrava SDK provides functions to play call and messages tones as audio alerts on the Blynclight Plus and Blynclight Mini.
What Operating Systems does the Embrava SDK support?
Currently, the Embrava SDK only supports the Windows Operating System however, we are working on providing SDK support on Mac OSX and Linux.
