Embrava + Maptician

Maptician shows who is where on a live, interactive map. Embrava is the hardware at every desk and door that keeps that map honest. A real check-in at the sign becomes the truth behind the dot on the floor plan, so what you see online is what is actually happening in the building.

Two layers, one floor

Who does what.

Maptician and Embrava own different halves of the same job. Maptician is the software that maps the space and decides who has which seat or room. Embrava is the hardware that confirms the booking actually happened and feeds that truth back to the map.

Maptician

The live map

  • Interactive floor maps with desk and room booking
  • Occupancy tracking and space-management reporting
  • The view employees use to find a seat or a room
  • The system of record for who reserved what
Embrava

The check-in on the floor

  • Desk Sign and Room Sign at the point of use
  • Color status light readable from across the floor
  • Badge, NFC, Wallet, QR, and touch check-in
  • Ground-truth occupancy fed back to Maptician
How it fits together

One map, verified on the floor.

The integration runs both ways. A desk or room reserved in Maptician appears on the Embrava sign in real time, with the booking details, the time remaining, and a color state anyone can read at a glance. When an employee checks in at the device, by tapping a badge, an NFC phone, a Wallet credential, a QR code, or the screen, that check-in flows straight back to Maptician. The dot on the live map turns from booked to occupied because someone physically showed up, not because a calendar said they might.

Nothing about your Maptician setup has to change. There is no middleware to run, no parallel calendar to keep clean, and no new login for employees. Maptician stays the system of record. Embrava is the layer that pulls the map off the screen and onto the desk and the meeting-room door, and sends back the proof that the map is correct.

What Embrava adds

What a Maptician map gains with hardware behind it.

A live map you can trust

Occupancy on the map is only as good as the check-in data feeding it. Every tap at an Embrava sign is a real, physical check-in, so the map shows seats and rooms that are genuinely in use, not just reserved.

Check-in employees already have

RFID badge at 13.56 MHz and 125 kHz, NFC phone, Apple or Google Wallet, HID Mobile credential, QR, or a screen tap. No app to install and no new credential to issue.

Availability you can see across the room

A color status light shows free, reserved, or in use from across an open floor, so people stop walking up to closed doors and squatting on a desk the map said was taken.

Rooms and desks, one vendor

Room Sign for meeting spaces and Desk Sign for hot-desking and hoteling, both driven by the same Maptician map, both managed from one place.

Common questions

Embrava and Maptician, answered.

Does Embrava work with Maptician?
Yes. Embrava Room Sign and Desk Sign connect to Maptician through the Embrava platform. A desk or room reserved in Maptician appears on the sign, and a check-in made at the sign feeds back to Maptician, so the live map, the device, and the booking stay aligned. There is no middleware to run and no second calendar to maintain.
How does Embrava make Maptician's live map more accurate?
Maptician's interactive map and occupancy view are only as accurate as the check-in data behind them. Embrava is the physical check-in at the desk and the door. When someone taps a badge, phone, or Wallet credential at the sign, that check-in becomes the ground-truth signal that tells Maptician a seat or room is genuinely in use, so the map reflects reality rather than intent.
Do I have to replace Maptician to add Embrava signs?
No. Embrava is the hardware layer behind the space-management software you already run. Maptician stays your system of record for floor maps, booking, and occupancy; Embrava signs surface those bookings at the desk and the meeting-room door and capture check-ins. No rip-and-replace, no middleware, and no new credentials for employees.
Does the Embrava and Maptician integration cover both desk and room booking?
Yes. Maptician handles desk booking, room booking, and occupancy tracking, and Embrava puts hardware on both. Room Sign mounts outside meeting spaces with live availability; Desk Sign sits on hot desks for tap-to-claim hot-desking and hoteling. The same Maptician data drives both devices.
If we move off Maptician later, do we lose the Embrava hardware?
No. Embrava signs are platform-agnostic. The Embrava platform sits between the device and your calendar and space-management systems, so the same hardware carries over if you switch from Maptician to Microsoft Places, Eptura, ServiceNow, or another platform. The hardware decision and the software decision stay separate.
